history

The company was founded by the Behrend family about 200 years ago. Since 1810, it has been active in the areas of shipping, timber and coal trading and haulage in the greater Brandenburg area. In 1953 the company was transformed into today's bus company. It began in the 1950s to offer regular bus services to the then district town of Brandenburg an der Havel . However, as part of the forced nationalization in the GDR, after a few years this line had to be handed over to the then state-owned road transport company.

Since it was not possible for the bus company to buy new vehicles in GDR times, among other things, repair conversions were procured from the Fritz Fleischer Gera body shop . A main line of business was bus trips to Czechoslovakia and Poland. Inland, day trips and transportation of Russian tourists were carried out. In addition, the company transported workers to the "major construction sites of the Republic" (GDR). The airports in Berlin-Schönefeld , Rheinsberg , Greifswald and Oberwiesenthal were often served. Multi-day trips were not offered because overnight accommodations were only available to the GDR's German travel agency .

After the fall of the Wall, it was found in 1992 that the forced takeover by the GDR at that time was illegal. From this point on, the vehicle fleet was modernized. The company was the first in Germany to purchase a modern bus trailer train (2003, Scania-Hess bus train 31).

Today the company operates day and multi-day trips throughout Germany and Europe. In addition to school trips and scheduled services, the company is also active in the commercial vehicle trade.
