The place Plötzin has been part of the city of Werder (Havel) in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district , in the Lehnin-Belzig parish in Brandenburg , since the end of 2000 . The population is estimated at 750 citizens.

history

Plötzin, which is mentioned in a document in 1179, belonged to the cathedral chapter of Brandenburg until 1726. It was then sold to various people, first to Minister Friedrich von Görne , in 1817 to Oberamtmann Bennecken, in 1831 to the widow of the preacher Tiebe and in 1872 to von Rochows. The place has a landing pad.

On December 31, 2000 Plötzin was incorporated into Werder (Havel). The districts of Neu Plötzin and Plessow also belong to the municipality of Plötzin

Sights, clubs and culture

  • The main attraction of the place is the village church Plötzin from the 13th century. The simple building structure of the rectangular church is deceptive; it was originally a church with a nave , retracted choir and apse . In the south wall of the ship, the original round-arched community portal with accompanying arch has been preserved, but it is now blocked. It contains a baroque altar and an organ. In the western part of the ship the outline of an originally arched window can be seen. Judging by the position of this window, the church has been increased by one meter.
  • Other buildings are under monument protection, such as a Schulzenhöft from the years 1829/1830 as well as a house from 1829, which was rebuilt in the second half of the 19th century.

societies

The Plötzin volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1929. Since 2010 she has had a women's team that takes part in competitions.

Culture

The 15 km long Werderobst panorama trail runs through Plötzin .
