In the administrative community of Hohnstein / Südharz from the Thuringian district of Nordhausen , five municipalities had recently joined forces to handle their administrative business. The seat of the administrative community was in the district of Ilfeld in the Harztor community .
location
The administrative community (VG) Hohnstein / Südharz was a good 7 kilometers north of the district town of Nordhausen . In the north the area of the administrative community bordered on the Harz, in the south on the city of Nordhausen. The largest river was the Bere , which flowed through Ilfeld and Niedersachswerfen.
The municipalities
history
On April 6, 1994 the administrative community was founded.
On December 1, 2007, the communities Petersdorf , Rodishain and Stempeda left the administrative community and were incorporated into Nordhausen. The communities of Ilfeld and Niedersachswerfen merged on January 1, 2012 to form the Harztor community.
As part of the Thuringia regional reform in 2018 and 2019 , Buchholz was incorporated into Nordhausen and Harzungen, Herrmannsacker and Neustadt / Harz to Harztor on July 6, 2018. The administrative community was thus dissolved. The last joint chairman was Bernd Meyer.
