Vic Anselmo (born March 21, 1985 in Riga , Latvian SSR as Viktorija Kukule) is a Latvian singer and songwriter .

Early years

Since childhood she has been inspired by many different genres of music. Initially blues , country and soul , and later rock , grunge , progressive metal and gothic metal , among others , influenced their musical development. At the age of 10, Vic Anselmo attended a music school, where she learned to play the piano and began writing her own lyrics. She taught herself to play the guitar . At the age of 16, Vic Anselmo founded her first band and enjoyed her first successes at regional events such as the rock festival Sinepes un Medus 2003 in Madona and the Liepājas dzintars 2004 festival in Liepāja

In September 2006 Vic Anselmo's demo CD Beverly was released .

Career

In March 2008, Vic Anselmo recorded her debut album Trapped in a Dream , which was released in October 2008 under her own management (Vic Anselmo Management) and distributed through Omniamedia / Rough Trade in Europe. She later recorded In My Fragile (released August 19, 2011, Danse Macabre ). In 2015 their third album Who Disturbs the Water was released (released October 2, 2015, Clandestine Music ).

Vic Anselmo was a supporting act on a European tour of the German electronic avant-garde duo Deine Lakaien . She opened all 24 shows of the “Indicator tour” in Germany , Austria , Switzerland and Luxembourg . She took part in Antimatter's “Fear of Europe” tour as a guest singer and pianist. In addition to these guest appearances, she toured with her own band on three club tours through Europe and performed at major festivals such as WGT 2009 (Germany), Castle Party 2009 ( Poland ), Waregem Gothic Festival 2010 ( Belgium ), Elf Fantasy Fair 2010 ( Netherlands ) and Dark Mills 2010 in London ( United Kingdom ). Vic also appeared as a guest singer with Das Ich at the WGT and Amphi Festival 2011 and with Mesh at the M'era Luna Festival 2011.

Vic Anselmo appeared as a guest singer in the song Adoration by ION, a project by Duncan Patterson, and sang a duet with Mesh in You'll Never Understand . She also became a member of Inner Fear, a project by Cradle of Filth drummer Martin Skaroupka. Vic Anselmo also made vocal recordings for the CDs Fear of a Unique Identity by Antimatter and Asen'ka from Samsa's dream .

Vic Anselmo is a stage name given by her friends Viktorija because of her love for Pantera , whose singer is called Phil Anselmo .
