Victoria ( German Viktoriastadt , Hungarian Viktóriaváros ) is a small town in Romania and is located in Transylvania in the Brașov district .
Geographical location
Victoria is located seven kilometers south of Ucea and southwest of the city of Făgăraş . The city has a mountain rescue service and is located at the foot of the Făgăraş Mountains in the Transylvanian Alps . The chemical company SC VIROMET SA is economically decisive for the place.
history
The city was founded in 1948 as a so-called industrial center. According to a travel report from 1996, the city is also officially called Orașul Victoria . It is characterized by prefabricated housing estates.
At Christmas 2000, a new five-story building for 170 orphans was opened. After a year of construction, the home, which - named after the husband of the world-famous violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter - was renamed Dr. Detlef Friedrich Wunderlich-Haus is to be completed. The city also has a technical college.
