Vid Kavtičnik [ vit kau̯titʃnik ] (born May 24, 1984 in Slovenj Gradec , SR Slovenia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian handball player who plays for the French club Montpellier Handball on the right winger position.
Career
Kavtičnik played for RK Velenje before joining the German first division club THW Kiel in the 2005/2006 season . There he shared the position with Christian Zeitz . At the end of the 2008/2009 season, Kavtičnik left the THW. Together with his colleague Nikola Karabatić , he moved to Montpellier HB for a € 1.5 million transfer fee. Both had valid contracts with the THW until 2012. In the 2019/20 season he will run for Pays d'Aix UC . He then switched to USAM Nîmes .
So far, he has made 196 appearances for the Slovenian national team and scored 543 goals. Most recently he was at the 2013 World Cup in Spain. He was a member of the Slovenian squad at the 2016 Olympic Games .
