Vidal de Jesus (born May 5, 1952 in Same in Portuguese Timor ), battle name Comandante Riak Leman , is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of the Partido Social Democrata (PSD) . He comes from the western part of the country ( Loro Munu ) and is President of the Conselho dos Combatentes Libertação Nacional CCLN ( German  Council of Veterans of National Liberation )

Jesus attended school through fourth grade. During the Indonesian occupation he fought against the invaders and from 1998 was secretary of the Conselho Nacional de Resistência Timorense (CNRT) in Region 4 ( Ermera , Liquiçá , Bobonaro and Cova Lima ). For this, Jesus received the Ordem da Guerrilha in 2006 and the Ordem de Timor-Leste in 2018 .

Jesus already became a member of the PSD in the elections for the constituent assembly . With the restoration of independence in 2002, the assembly became the National Parliament of East Timor . In the new elections in 2007 , Jesus again won a seat in parliament. Here he was PSD parliamentary group leader, member of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security (Commission B) and the Commission on the Eradication of Poverty, Rural and Regional Development and Gender Equality (Commission E). At the time, Jesus was also the PSD vice chairman.

In the parliamentary elections in 2012 , Jesus was represented in 26th place on the PSD's electoral list. However, the PSD failed at the three percent hurdle. In the 2012 presidential election, Jesus supported the eventual winner, Taur Matan Ruak .

On October 10, 2012, Jesus was elected to the State Council by Parliament.
