Bernsdorf first appears in a document as Berharsdorf in 1195 .

The two places Vierbache and Brausmühle no longer exist today.

On October 1, 1971, Vierbach was incorporated into the neighboring community of Reichensachsen as part of the regional reform in Hesse . This went on December 31, 1971 in the new municipality of Wehretal.

Association

There is a volunteer fire brigade, a local tourist association and the Blau-Weiß Vierbach sports club, founded in 1926, which currently includes a gymnastics and table tennis department.
