Viktor I. Amadeus Adolf (Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym)
Viktor I. Amadeus Adolf von Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym (born September 7, 1693 at Schloss Schaumburg near Balduinstein , † April 15, 1772 ibid) was the second Prince of Anhalt-Bernburg- Schaumburg-Hoym.
Life
Viktor was the eldest son of Prince Lebrecht von Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym (1669–1727) from his marriage to Charlotte (1673–1700), daughter of Prince Adolf II of Nassau-Dillenburg (1629–1676).
After the death of his mother in 1700, he inherited the county of Holzappel and, after the death of his grandmother Elisabeth Charlotte von Holzappel-Schaumburg in 1707, finally also Schloss Schaumburg . In 1708, his father, who had previously received Zeitz and Belleben , was also awarded Hoym (but no sovereignty), since the Harzgerode county fell to his older brother. In 1721 he made Hoym the royal seat of the Principality of Anhalt-Bernburg-Hoym and had a castle built there. When he came of age in 1714, he entered the government in Holzappel-Schaumburg, and when his father died in 1727, he also inherited Anhalt-Zeitz-Hoym, which he combined with his other property in Anhalt-Bernburg-Schaumburg-Hoym .
In 1711 and 1712 Viktor took part in the campaigns against France in the Netherlands and was taken prisoner near Denain , from which he was soon freed.
The disputes with the Bernburg main line over paragiate , which had already started under his father, continued during the reign of Viktor I. In addition, the country suffered badly from the effects of the Seven Years' War .
