Viola Tensil (born November 30, 1979 in Bremen ) is a German presenter , journalist , editor , network reporter and producer of online videos. She became known, among other things, through her moderation on the television station GIGA .

Life

Viola Tensil was born in Bremen in 1979. When she was eight years old, her family moved to Indonesia . In 1992 the family moved back to Germany. First to Würzburg , then to Essen . Tensil graduated from high school there and studied English and German at the University of Duisburg-Essen . After completing her studies, she worked as a freelancer for the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung .

Tensil entered TV in 2005. She involuntarily took part in a casting for the youth broadcaster NBC GIGA and just a few days later had her first on-air appearance as part of the two-week GIGA \\ GAMES road show.

In the following three years she moderated GIGA GREEN , PLAY , GIGA \\ Games and most recently the weekly magazine Wiimotion , which she designed herself , which dealt with the Nintendo Wii . In mid-2008, Tensil left GIGA because, according to her own statement, she “thought that it would not work for long.” In fact, on February 28, 2009, GIGA ceased broadcasting.

From 2009 to 2011 she presented the computer game magazine PLAY'D , which, like the successor format VORZOCKER , was broadcast on Animax and AXN HD. Since the end of 2013, she has been producing the magazine as a pure online magazine for YouTube.

Together with Colin Gäbel , she moderated the program FTW - For the Win from 2011 to 2012 , which dealt with eSports events and was broadcast on ZDFkultur .

In addition, Tensil has moderated the Ubisoft program on the Gamescom stage every year since 2009 .

Awards

In 2013 Tensil received the MIRA Award for Best Presenter in Pay TV (for VORZOCKER ). She was also named Pay TV Personality of the Year.
