Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. , a US company listed on the New York Stock Exchange and included in the Fortune 1000 list , is one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductor components ( diodes , rectifiers , transistors , optoelectronic components and selected IC types ) and passive electronic components ( resistors , capacitors , inductors , sensors and converters ). These components are used in almost all types of electronic devices and facilities. The company is present in industrial and consumer electronics as well as computer, automotive, communications, defense, aerospace and medical technology.

Vishay was founded in 1962 by Felix Zandman and is headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania , USA.

Vishay has manufacturing facilities in 17 countries and employs over 20,000 people. The German locations are Selb (formerly Draloric), Heide (formerly Beyschlag), Heilbronn (formerly Temic , Telefunken), Landshut (formerly Roederstein) and Itzehoe (formerly Siliconix). Vishay is now represented in Germany with around 1900 employees. The Selb location is also the Group's European headquarters.
