Vito Pallavicini
Vito Pallavicini (born April 22, 1924 in Vigevano ; † August 16, 2007 ibid), pseudonym Calimero , was an Italian songwriter .
Life
Vito Pallavicini studied process engineering and from 1945 wrote for a local weekly news magazine in Vigevano. He wrote his first song, entitled Amorvole , in 1959 with the Italian songwriter Pino Massara for Nicola Arigliano . Since then, he has written the lyrics for more than 160 songs, many of which took part in the annual Sanremo Festival , including Pino Donaggio at the festival in 1965 with the song Io che non vivo (senza te) . The song was released in many countries by Elvis Presley , Dusty Springfield and Cher under the title You Don't Have to Say You Love Me , among others . With the song Non andare più lontano whose text comes from Pallavicini spring, took Claudio Villa in the Euro Vision Song Contest 1967 in part for Italy.
He achieved further international fame with the song Azzurro from 1968, sung by Adriano Celentano , which reached number six in the German charts and number one in the Austrian charts and was also covered several times.
Vito Pallavicini died at his birthplace in 2007 at the age of 83.
