Vittorio Belmondo

Vittorio Belmondo ( bl. 1930s) from Turin was an Italian racing driver .

Career

Belmondo started in a Maserati 8CM from the Gruppo San Giorgio in 1934 at the Coppa Principessa di Piemonte in Posillipo near Naples . In 1935 he was seventh in a privately entered Alfa Romeo 8C at the Targa Florio in Sicily and won the Circuito di Varese race . In 1936 and 1937 Vittorio Belmondo competed in a Maserati 4CM Voiturette in Italy and Switzerland . At the 1936 Mille Miglia he finished eleventh in an Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara together with his co-driver Balbis.

In 1937 and 1938 Belmondo also competed in the Grand Prix European Championship advertised by the AIACR . At the 1937 German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring , he finished twelfth in an Alfa Romeo 8C-35 , and he finished tenth at the 1937 Italian Grand Prix at the Circuito di Montenero in Livorno - the last driver to be ranked. At the 1938 Italian Grand Prix in Monza , he retired from an Alfa Romeo Tipo 308 used by Renato Balestrero . In the Coppa Ciano in 1938 he won on a Balestrero-Alfa-Romeo fourth, and in the Coppa Acerbo in 1938 in Pescara Belmondo was on a Tipo 312 of the Alfa-Romeo - factory teams Alfa Corse third behind Rudolf Caracciola ( Mercedes-Benz ) and Giuseppe Farina (Alfa Romeo).
