Vladan Matić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Владан Матић , born April 28, 1970 in Šabac ) is a Serbian handball trainer and former handball player .

Career

player

Vladan Matić first played as a right backcourt player and right winger in his hometown for Metaloplastika Šabac . In 1993 the left-hander moved to RK Partizan Belgrade , with whom he was Yugoslav champion in 1994 and 1995 and cup winner in 1994. After two years he went to city rivals RK Red Star Belgrade , with whom he won the championship again in 1996 and 1997 and the cup in 1996. He then returned to Partizan, where he won his fourth championship in 1999 and further trophies in 1998 and 2001. From 2001 to the end of his career in 2007, he ran for the Hungarian club Pick Szeged . In Hungary he won the trophy in 2006 and the championship at the end of his career in 2007.

For the Yugoslav national team Vladan Matic played 105 international matches . He won bronze at the 1999 and 2001 world championships . At the 2000 Olympic Games , he finished fourth.

Trainer

From 2007 Vladan Matić was head coach at Pick Szeged, with whom he won the cup in 2008. From October 2008 to February 2010 he was assistant coach of the Hungarian national team . In November 2009 he took over the Hungarian club Ferencvárosi TC . In the summer of 2011 he signed a two-year contract with the Slovenian top club RK Celje , with whom he won the cup in 2012. After taking over the Serbian national team in October 2013 , he resigned from Celje in December 2013. After failing to qualify for the 2015 World Cup , he resigned as national coach in June 2014. From summer 2014 he trains Tatabánya KC .
