The Vogue (in its own spelling VOGUE ) is an internationally popular fashion magazine , which traditionally has a strong impact on global fashion. It is an award for models, fashion designers and photographers when they are published in Vogue . In 1892 the first edition appeared in the USA , edited by Arthur Baldwin Turnure . After his death in 1909 Condé Montrose Nast bought Vogue . To this day, Vogue is published by Condé Nast or under license. Standalone editions of Vogue are currently published in 20 countries around the world . In addition to the artistic director Alexander Liberman, the editors-in-chief Diana Vreeland and Anna Wintour have played a key role in the success of the past 50 years .

The focus of the monthly magazine (in the format 213 × 277) is the lavishly staged photo series by well-known photographers with the latest exclusive women's fashion. Photographers such as Irving Penn , Adolphe de Meyer , Edward Steichen , Man Ray , George Hoyningen-Huene , Horst P. Horst , Helmut Newton , Peter Lindbergh , Peter Beard and Karl Lagerfeld have worked for Vogue . The magazine also contains editorial articles on design , architecture , celebrities, culture, travel, entertainment and horoscopes .
At least half the volume consists of advertisements and promotions from international manufacturers of branded fashion and cosmetics . The magazine's target group is wealthy female customers aged around 29 and over who orientate themselves towards the common ideal of beauty . The biggest competing magazines are Harper's Bazaar and Elle .

Vogue in Germany
The German edition of Vogue appeared for the first time from April 1928 to October 1929 with the publisher's headquarters in Berlin . Since August 1979 it has been published monthly by the Munich publishing office. Christiane Arp has been editor-in-chief of the German edition since 2003 , with her predecessors including Angelica Blechschmidt and Christa Dowling. The accompanying Internet presence vogue.de has existed in Germany since 2001 ; the editorial office is also in Munich. The sold circulation is 77,262 copies, a decrease of 34.4 percent since 1998.
With the October 2009 edition, German Vogue celebrated its 30th anniversary. To mark the anniversary, the magazine appeared with three record-breaking issues with a total of 2196 pages. Karl Lagerfeld , Bruce Weber and Peter Lindbergh were co- editors-in-chief for one issue each . In 1997, the German GQ came on the market, which emerged from the German men's Vogue .
Vogue Business
Twice a year, with the April and October editions of Vogue, there is an extra Vogue Business issue with topics for business people. The focus is on portraits of successful women entrepreneurs as well as news on fashion, art and culture.

The Vogue Salon is an initiative launched by Vogue editor-in-chief Christiane Arp in 2011 to promote young German fashion designers and takes place twice a year during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. For up to four seasons, the Vogue Salon offers hand-picked young fashion designers a stage to present their collections to an international specialist audience of retailers, buyers and journalists, and to establish the relationships with retailers that are essential for commercial success. The Vogue Salon takes place as part of the group exhibition of the Berliner Mode Salons in the Kronprinzenpalais in Berlin.
International
Under the motto A Global Celebration of Fashion , Vogue is initiating an international shopping initiative that is being held in 5 countries and 14 cities worldwide.
In Germany, the shopping initiative took place from 2009 to 2017. At Fashion's Night Out, fashion boutiques and department stores are open until midnight.
