The Voldertalhütte or Franz Pitscheider Haus is a refuge for nature lovers in Austria in the Voldertal in the Tux Alps .

history

The old Voldertalhütte was built in the years 1918 to 1923 by the local group Hall der Naturfreunde, founded in 1909 . On April 28, 1988, the hut burned down to the ground. The reconstruction took place between 1988 and 1991. In recognition of the merits of the chairman of the local group Hall Franz Pitscheider (* 1933; † 2002) around the reconstruction and the construction of a spring catchment and a small power station for power supply, the hut is also called Franz Pitscheider House .

Access and ways

The hut can be reached in around 1 hour on foot from the hamlet of Volderwildbad . The entrance to the Nösslach car park, about 15 minutes' walk above the hut, is subject to a toll.

Neighboring huts are the Glungezerhütte just below the Glungezer summit and the Lizumer Hütte in the Wattental valley to the east . These two huts can be reached on different hikes, each lasting several hours. The Naviser Jöchl ( 2479  m above sea level ) offers a transition to the Naviser Hut in the Navistal . From the Voldertalhütte you can climb the peaks in the Voldertal, including the Largoz ( 2214  m ), the Haneburger ( 2596  m ), the Malgrübler ( 2749  m ), the Grünbergspitze ( 2790  m ), or the Rosenjoch ( 2796  m ) .
