The 'Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank in the district of Rendsburg eG was founded on January 1st, 2000. The institute emerged from the merger between Raiffeisenbank Nortorf eG and Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank Rendsburg eG

Raiffeisenbank Nortorf eG was created in 1970 through the merger of the savings and loan funds Bargstedt (founded March 5, 1898), Brammer (founded December 30, 1921), Dätgen (founded May 13, 1907), Groß Vollstedt (founded March 17, 1921) 1911), Krogaspe (founded February 13, 1922), Langwedel (founded April 5, 1899), Schülp bei Nortorf (founded June 14, 1921) and Timmaspe (founded June 9, 1921). Mergers with other cooperative banks took place in 1985 - Raiffeisenbank Gnutz , 1990 - Raiffeisenbank Aukrug , 1996 - Raiffeisenbank Felde.

The establishment of the Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank Rendsburg eG is documented as follows: In 1919 the first savings and loan fund was founded in Osterrönfeld. Mergers took place in 1965 with the savings and loan fund Schülldorf and in 1970 with the savings and loan fund Ostenfeld . In 1973 the name was changed to Raiffeisenbank eG Osterrönfeld. Through the mergers in 1987 of the Raiffeisen banks Fockbek / Nübbel and 1989 with the Raiffeisen bank Borgstedt , the Raiffeisen bank Rendsburg eG was created with its headquarters in Osterrönfeld. In 1993 the Raiffeisenbank Rendsburg eG merged with the Rendsburger Volksbank eG and at the same time took over the Landkreditbank in Rendsburg and then called itself Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank Rendsburg eG with its headquarters in Rendsburg. The "oldest branch" of today's Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank in the Rendsburg eG district comes from Bargstedt and dates from 1898.
