Vorderbuchberg is a hamlet in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen and a district of the Mitterfels market .

Vorderbuchberg is about two kilometers south-east of Mitterfels, on the SR 4 district road on a ridge between the Kerbtal of the Mehnach and the Bogenbachtal .

In the atlas sheet of 1829 the hamlet is referred to as Unterbuchberg with 3 houses. From the 1900 census, six residential buildings were registered for a long time.

In 1828, at the same time as Hinterbuchberg , the parish was changed from the Catholic parish of Oberaltaich to Mitterfels.
