Władysław Niegolewski (in Germany also Wladislaus Moritz von Niegolewski ; born September 12, 1819 in Włościejewki , † March 19, 1885 in Murownica ) was a liberal politician of the Polish minority in Prussia and in the German Empire .

Life

Niegolewski came from a noble Polish landowner family. He studied law in Bonn between 1841 and 1844 . In 1845 received his doctorate he became Dr. jur. In 1847 he was accused of having been involved in the preparation of the planned, but not broken out Polish uprising of 1846 in the so-called Poland Trial . He was also involved in the Wielkopolska uprising of 1848 . 1848 was part of the national committee in Poznan . As a member of the Polish delegation appeared in the defense of Polish affairs in the parliament in Frankfurt.

Between 1850 and 1852 and from 1859 to 1861 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the Polish parliamentary group . In 1861 he resigned from his seat. Niegolewski took part in the January uprising in the Russian part of Poland in 1863 and was wounded in the Battle of Ignacew.

Between 1867 and 1881 he was a member first of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation and then of the German Empire . From 1867 to 1871 he represented the constituency of Poznan administrative district 8 as a member of parliament , from 1871 to 1877 the constituency of Poznan 2 and from 1878 to 1881 the constituency of Bromberg administrative region 5.

He co-founded Polish economic and educational organizations.
