In a problematic New York neighborhood, the corpses of murdered pairs keep appearing. These are always presented in the same way: one is killed by electricity and branded with the Price equation WΔZ, the other, always someone close to the dead, is tortured. Macho veteran Eddie Argo and his new partner Helen trace the case. The enigmatic WΔZ equation can be deciphered when they track down laboratory assistant Jean: it is a love test. The victims face an inhuman choice between killing their loved one or dying themselves.
