The 2006/07 season was the third season of the Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL), one of Canada's top two divisions in women's ice hockey in the western provinces of Alberta and British Columbia . The Calgary Oval X-Treme dominated the season, remained undefeated throughout the season and defeated the Minnesota Whitecaps 7-1 in the championship final . This secured them the third championship title in a row in the WWHL.
Attendees
The same five teams as in the previous season took part in the third edition of the WWHL. In addition, the Strathmore Rockies , founded in March 2006, were included as an expansion team that only played friendly games in the 2006/07 season. Before the start of the season, the representatives of the WWHL agreed with the NWHL on a restructuring of the two leagues, whereby the WWHL should be played as the Western Division of the nationwide NWHL. Ultimately, this failed because the two leagues could not agree on a common schedule and mode for the championship.
