The Waag is an approximately 8 km long right tributary of the Minster in the Swiss canton of Schwyz .

The Waag rises at about 1810  m above sea level. M. below the mountain ridge between Gross strengnen and Chli strengnen in the municipality of Oberiberg . It initially flows north-northeast towards the valley floor, and shortly after the source it crosses the municipal boundary to Unteriberg .

At Laueli , the Waag reaches the valley floor of the hole , where the outflow of the Seeblisee flows into it from the left . It initially crosses the valley in a north-easterly direction, before it takes the Weglosenbach from the right at the Weglosen valley station and turns north. Immediately afterwards the Gänigenbach flows from the right at Fuchsenweid , after which the main road 386 follows on the left. The Waag passes Lehweid , Hintertwingi , Twingi and Vordertwingi . A short narrow valley follows , after which the valley widens.

The Sitibach flows towards it from the right before it turns to the northeast. It passes the hamlet of Waag and the Herti quarter and finally flows out at 911  m above sea level. M. from the right into the Minster, which is only slightly larger here.

Catchment area

The catchment area of ​​the Waag extends over an area of ​​23.81 square kilometers. It consists of 57.3% agricultural area, 27.3% wooded area, 12.2% unproductive area, 2.5% settlement area and 0.7% water area. The highest point is 2269  m above sea level. M. a little below the Drusberg , the average altitude is 1428  m above sea level. M.

In the south lies the catchment area of ​​the Starzlen , in the west that of the Muota and in the east that of the Sihl .
