The Helsinki constituency (constituency 01) is one of 13 Finnish constituencies for elections to the Finnish Parliament and the President of the Republic of Finland . It includes the Finnish capital Helsinki . In the parliamentary elections, each constituency is entitled to a certain number of seats in parliament depending on the number of inhabitants, the Helsinki constituency currently has 22 seats.
The Helsinki constituency was separated from the surrounding constituency of Uusimaa for the 1954 parliamentary elections . Since then it has been the most populous constituency in Finland with 19 seats until Uusimaa overtook him in the 1975 general election . Since then he has been in second place.
