The constituency of Styria 19 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian Crown Land of Styria . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .
history
After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I became effective on January 26, 1907 . The new Reichsrat election regulations created a total of 416 electoral districts, with the exception of Galicia in each constituency one member was elected in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Styria 19 comprised the following judicial districts:
- Leibnitz (excluding the municipalities of Leibnitz , Straß and Ehrenhausen , see constituency Styria 10)
- Wildon (excluding the communities Wildon and Sankt Georgen an der Stiefing , see constituency Styria 10)
- Kirchbach
In the 1907 Reichsrat election, the Christian social politician Franz Morsey prevailed in the first ballot. In the 1911 Reichsrat election, his party colleague Georg Mayer prevailed.
