The constituency of Styria 2 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian Crown Land of Styria . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .
history
After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . The new Reichsrat election regulations created a total of 416 electoral districts, with the exception of Galicia in each constituency one member was elected in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Styria 2 included the II. And III. District of the city of Graz ( St. Leonhard or Geidorf ) as well as the community Waltendorf from the judicial district of Graz Umgebung .
From the Imperial Council election in 1907 was Julius Derschatta still hold ( German People's Party forth) as the winner. He resigned in 1909, whereupon Heinrich Wastian won the Reichsrat replacement election. In the 1911 Reichsrat election Heinrich Wastian again prevailed. However, since he had also started in the constituency of Styria 9 and accepted the mandate there, he had to be elected again in 1911. In the 1911 Reichsrat replacement election, Franz Held finally prevailed.
