The constituency of Styria 15 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian Crown Land of Styria . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .
history
After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I became effective on January 26, 1907 . The new Reichsrat election regulations created a total of 416 electoral districts, with the exception of Galicia in each constituency one member was elected in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Styria 15 comprised the following judicial districts:
- Murau (without the municipality of Murau , see constituency Styria 7 )
- Neumarkt (excluding the municipalities of Neumarkt in Steiermark and Sankt Lambrecht , see constituency Styria 7)
- Judenburg (excluding the communities Judenburg , Unzmarkt and Weißkirchen , see constituency Styria 7)
- Obdach (without Obdach municipality , see constituency Styria 7)
- Knittelfeld (without the municipality of Knittelfeld , see constituency Styria 7)
In the 1907 Reichsrat election, the German-conservative candidate Philipp Geisler prevailed in the second ballot. The 1911 Reichsrat election was won by his rival Michael Brandl .
