The constituency of Styria 13 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian Crown Land of Styria . The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy .
history
After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I became effective on January 26, 1907 . The new Reichsrat election regulations created a total of 416 electoral districts, with the exception of Galicia in each constituency one member was elected in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Styria 13 comprised the following judicial districts:
- Bruck an der Mur (excluding the municipalities of Bruck an der Mur and Kapfenberg , see constituency Styria 5 )
- Frohnleiten (without the communities Frohnleiten , Deutschfeistritz and Übelbach Markt , see constituency Styria 5 )
- Leoben (excluding the municipalities of Leoben , St. Peter bei Leoben and Trofaiach , see constituency Styria 5 or Donawitz and Vordernberg , see constituency Styria 6 )
- Eisenerz (excluding the municipality of Eisenerz , see constituency Styria 6 )
- Mautern (excluding the market town of Mautern in Styria , see constituency Styria 7 )
In the 1907 Reichsrat election, Franz Prisching from the Christian Social Party prevailed in the second ballot. In the 1911 Reichsrat election, Prisching was able to successfully defend his mandate.
