history

The judicial district of Wildon was created by a proclamation of the State Court Introductory Commission passed in 1849 and originally comprised the 35 communities of Allerheiligen , Badendorf , Breitenfeld , Edelstauden , Empersdorf , Feiting , Felgitsch , Flüßing , Hainsdorf , Hart , Haslach , Heiligen Kreuz , Hengsberg , Kainach , Lappach , Lebring , Petzendorf , Pirching , Pöls , Preding , Ragnitz , Rettenbach , Schönberg , Schrötten , St. Georgen , St. Margarethen , Sankt Ulrich am Waasen , Stocking , Sukdull , Tobis , Unterhaus , Weitendorf , Wildon , Wolfsberg and Wutschdorf .

The judicial district Wildon formed during the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868 together with the judicial districts of Leibnitz and Arnfels the District Leibnitz .

In 1910, the judicial district covered 202.70 km² and after the First World War it was reduced to 187.65 km², whereby the judicial district had to cede the community of Petzendorf to the judicial district of Graz Umgebung and the communities of Preding and Tobis to the judicial district of Deutschlandsberg.

As a result of minor border changes and the cession of the municipality of Pöls to the judicial district of Graz Umgebung on January 1, 1957, the area of the judicial district was reduced to 179.90 km² by 1991, with a smaller area reduction of the judicial district from the boundary change that came into force on January 1, 1932 between the community of Gralla and the local communities Haslach and Ragnitz in favor of Gralla.

Through the “District Courts Ordinance Styria” of the federal government, the judicial district Wildon was dissolved and its area was united with the judicial district Leibnitz.

With the dissolution of the neighboring judicial districts, the area of the Leibnitz judicial district grew to 501.35 km² (1981) and 682.69 km² (2010).
