history

The judicial district of Oberwölz was created as the “judicial district of Oberwölz” as a result of an announcement made by the State Court Introductory Commission in 1849 and originally comprised the eight communities Feistritz , Katsch , Niederwölz , Oberwölz , Peterdorf , Pöllau , St. Peter and Winklern .

In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district of Oberwölz, together with the judicial districts of Murau and Neumarkt, formed the district of Murau .
