The judicial district of Sankt Gallen was a judicial district in the federal state of Styria, which was subordinate to the district court of Sankt Gallen . It comprised the easternmost part of the political district of Liezen and was added to the judicial district of Liezen in 1976 .

history

The judicial district of Sankt Gallen was created by a proclamation made by the State Court Introductory Commission in 1849 and originally comprised the eight communities of Altenmarkt , Gams , Landl , Oberreith , Palfau , St. Gallen , Weißenbach and Wildalpen . The judicial district of Saint Gallen was formed during the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868 together with the jurisdictions Aussee , Gröbming , Irdning , Rottenmann , Schladming and Liezen the district Liezen .

The area of the judicial district of Sankt Gallen remained almost unchanged during its existence. If its area was 589.98 km² in 1910, at the time of its dissolution it had an area of 584.95 km². The small loss of space is due to the transfer of part of the municipality of Landl to the judicial district of Eisenerz , which took place on January 1, 1932. In the course of merging several judicial districts, the St. Gallen judicial district was dissolved on October 1, 1976 and merged with the Liezen judicial district.

Courthouse

At the time of its dissolution, the judicial district of Sankt Gallen comprised the seven municipalities of Altenmarkt bei Sankt Gallen , Gams bei Hieflau , Landl , Palfau , Sankt Gallen , Weißenbach an der Enns and Wildalpen .
