The judicial district Birkfeld was the District Court Birkfeld under standing judicial district in the state of Styria . The judicial district covers the northern part of the political district Weiz and was added to the judicial district Weiz in 2002 .

history

The judicial district of Birkfeld was created by a proclamation of the state court introduction commission passed in 1849. It originally comprised the 19 communities of Amaßegg , Anger , Aschau , Baierdorf , Birkfeld , Fischbach , Gaisen , Gschaid , Haslau , Mitterbach , Oberfeistritz , Offenegg , Piregg , Raintsch , Sonnleitberg , Strallegg , Viertl Feistritz , Weiglhof and Weißenegg .

In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district of Birkfeld together with the judicial districts of Gleisdorf and Weiz formed the district of Weiz .

After Austria was annexed in 1939, the court was renamed the Birkfeld District Court and was now subordinate to the Graz Regional Court . In 1945 it was renamed the District Court again.

The judicial district remained unchanged for a long time during its existence. Due to changes in the boundary between the municipality of Rettenegg in the judicial district of Birkfeld and the municipality of Sankt Jakob im Walde in the political district of Hartberg, 35 km² were added to the judicial district of Birkfeld on March 1, 1949 with the vineyards "Inneres Kaltenegg" and "Feistritzwald".

As a result of the reorganization of the judicial districts in 2002, the Birkfeld judicial district was dissolved on July 1, 2002 and the area was added to the Weiz judicial district.
