history
Finds on the Buchkogel in the vicinity of the village suggest that the area was already settled in the Stone Age. On the local area itself there are archaeological finds that prove settlement at the turn of the times, including a villa rustica and not far from it a stately Roman - Norican burial ground. After the fall of the Roman Empire , Slavic farmers settled here.
With the occupation by the Bavarians and the beginning of the systematic clearing and settlement policy of the large Bavarian monasteries, the history becomes verifiable through written sources. The oldest mentions of some districts also date from this time.
The place All Saints arose around the Herbersdorf Castle, near which Markwart von Herbersdorf had a church built for himself and his subjects in 1218. The Herbersdorfers held the rule until 1609, when this passed to the Glojach family with the death of the last Herbersdorfers. The Glojacher had to sell Herbersdorf to the Jesuits due to high tax debts .
Because of the raging plague in Graz , the lessons of the scholastics of the Graz University, which at that time was run by Jesuits , were moved to the town. With Jesuit support, the church in the small town was also expanded in an unusually splendid way. When the order was dissolved in 1773, rule passed to the state religious fund. As a result of the state abolition of the feudal lordship in the middle of the 19th century, important tasks were transferred to the newly created communities, and the history of the place separated from that of the castle, whose owners had ruled the place for centuries.
The first certified mayor of All Saints was Franz Harkamp. In 1925, the Afram district, which initially belonged to All Saints' Day, fell to the then Stocking community .
