coat of arms
The municipal coat of arms was awarded on September 4, 1625 by Johann Ulrich von Eggenberg.
Blazon (coat of arms description):
- "Aine shield posted in two thail, the Vndern thail des Schildts black, on it two yellow thorns with a portten on a green field, through the port ain white streets, the upper thail des Schildts white inside a black rabbit, standing with outstretched wings, the hood of the raven is adorned with a gilded cron. "
Due to the amalgamation of the municipalities, the coat of arms lost its official validity on January 1st, 2015. The former municipalities of Obervogau , Spielfeld and Vogau had their own coats of arms until the merger at the end of 2014, as did the municipality of Murfeld, which was largely incorporated in 2020.
The re-award of the municipal coat of arms took effect on June 25, 2016.
The blazon reads:
- “In the shield, which is divided from silver to black, a black, gold-crowned raven flying up above, a tinned city wall with two tinned towers, walled in gold on a green field, and broken by a gate; a silver road leads through the gate. "
