Mitterlabill is a village and a cadastral municipality in the Schwarzautal municipality in the Leibnitz district of Styria .

Mitterlabill was also an independent municipality until 2014, but was merged with the neighboring municipalities of Wolfsberg in the Schwarzautal , Breitenfeld am Tannenriegel , Hainsdorf in the Schwarzautal and Schwarzau in the Schwarzau valley as part of the structural reform in Styria on January 1, 2015 . This new municipality bears the name Schwarzautal. The basis for this was a joint application from these communities.

Like the area of Schwarzau in the Schwarzautal, Mitterlabill belongs to the political district of Leibnitz after the amalgamation of the political district of Leibnitz, like the other predecessor communities of the new community of Schwarzautal. The boundaries of the districts of Southeast Styria and Leibnitz were changed accordingly.

Likewise, with effect from January 1, 2015, the judicial districts were redefined in the “District Courts Ordinance Styria 2015” due to the changes in the framework of the municipal structural reform in Styria . Therefore, the municipality has been in the Leibnitz judicial district since January 1, 2015 .

Mitterlabill is located about 25 kilometers southeast of Graz and about 20 kilometers west of the district capital Feldbach in the eastern Styrian hill country .

The last mayor was Anton Obendrauf (ÖVP) until December 31, 2014.

Municipal council

The municipal council was dissolved on December 31, 2014 when it was merged to form the Schwarzautal municipality. After the result of the municipal council election in 2010 , the ÖVP occupied all nine mandates. No other parties ran for election.
