Kaindorf an der Sulm is a former market town in the Leibnitz district ( Styria ) with 2552 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2015) and an area of ​​6.55 km². As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , it was incorporated into the municipality of Leibnitz on January 1, 2015 together with the previously independent municipality of Seggauberg . The basis for this was the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG.

history

Since June 1, 1951, the municipality of Kaindorf led the addition on the Sulm (due to confusion with the municipality of Kaindorf near Hartberg).

On September 22nd, 2013, the voluntary merger with the municipality of Leibnitz was approved by a narrow majority of 391 votes (for) to 388 (against) in a public survey.

Culture and sights

  • The Kreuzkogelwarte is a historical lookout point on the Kogelberg, two kilometers west of the village. The lower brick part from 1849/50 was raised a second time by a wooden floor in 1988/89.
