Waldemar Dudda

Waldemar Dudda (born May 28, 1925 in Hamburg ; † October 26, 2015 in Uetersen ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1964 he was mayor of Uetersen for 24 years and from 1967 to 1975 a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein .

Life

After elementary school, Waldemar Dudda attended a technical school and prepared for engineering school at an evening school. Before the end of the war he became a torpedo mechanic. After 1945 he completed retraining and was employed as an administrative employee. From 1957 to 1964 he was the commercial manager of the branch office of a large housing company for Southwest Holstein.

Dudda joined the SPD in 1947. From 1955 to 1967 he was chairman of the SPD district association Pinneberg . In 1959 he was elected to the Uetersen city council. From April 16, 1964 to 1988 Dudda Uetersener was mayor and shaped the development of the city during this time. From 1965 to 1967 Dudda was also a member of the Pinneberg district assembly and deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group . In the state elections in 1967 , Dudda was elected to the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament as a direct candidate for the SPD in constituency 19 (Pinneberg-Elbmarschen); in the following election in 1971 , he succeeded in entering the state parliament via the state list. He was a member of the state parliament from May 16, 1967 to May 24, 1975.

He was awarded the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Medal and the Dr.-Johann-Christian-Eberle-Medal from the Savings Banks and Giro Association Schleswig-Holstein for his voluntary local political work . Richard von Weizsäcker awarded Dudda the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 1988 . After his retirement as mayor, Dudda received the honor coin of the city of Uetersen and was made an honorary citizen of the city.
