Walentyn Olexandrowytsch Nalywajtschenko ( Ukrainian Валентин Олександрович Наливайченко * 8. June 1966 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian politician and former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the Federal Security Service of Ukraine .

biography

Nalywajtschenko studied philology from 1986 to 1990 at the National Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev. After graduating, he worked in the diplomatic service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, including as ambassador to Belarus . Under President Viktor Yushchenko he was head of the intelligence service from December 22, 2006 to March 11, 2010. On February 24, 2014, shortly after the Euromaidan riots , Nalyvaychenko was reappointed head of the Ukrainian intelligence service by the Ukrainian parliament and was dismissed from office on June 18, 2015 after President Poroshenko expressed his dissatisfaction with his work. He was succeeded by Wassyl Hryzak ( Васил Грицак ). He is a member of the UDAR faction in the Verkhovna Rada .

Valentyn Nalywajchenko is married and has one daughter.
