Walter Folger Brown

Walter Folger Brown (* 31 May 1869 in Massillon , Stark County , Ohio ; † 26. January 1961 in Toledo . Lucas County Ohio), son of James Marshall and Lavinia Folger Brown was, from 1929 to 1933 United States Postmaster General in the Administration of US President Herbert C. Hoover . He gained notoriety through his involvement in the Air Mail Scandal . He also represented the state of Ohio as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1924, 1928, 1936, 1940 and 1944. He was also President of the Toledo Humane Society from 1911 to 1961 .

Brown was married to Katharin Hafer (1872-1960) since September 10, 1903. He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio.
