Walter Langer (actor)

Walter Langer (born October 29, 1928 in Vienna ; † June 12, 2018 ) was an Austrian actor . He lived with his wife Waltraud alternately in Vienna, Gloggnitz and Altaussee .

Life

After his dream of becoming a painter initially failed to materialize, Langer worked in an office after the Second World War . However, he soon moved to the theater and to the Max Reinhardt Seminar , which he successfully completed with his classmate Edwin Zbonek, among others .

He first appeared in various basement stages in Vienna (Theater der Courage, Theater am Parkring). He then played for nine years at the Comedy Basel . In 1965 he was engaged at the Vienna Volkstheater , his parent company, where he was best known as a Nestroy actor in the Gustav Manker era. From 1984 to 1991 Langer was a member of the Vienna Burgtheater , where he also ended his theater career.

Walter Langer became popular through the senior citizens' club and the television series Kaisermühlen Blues , where he played the character of Eberhart Kudrnac . He has also appeared in a number of feature films and television films, including Felix Dvorak's Humor Knows No Boundaries and seven episodes of the Tatort television series .
