action

The single mother Anna tries to cope with everyday life with her two-year-old twins. She loses her job as a waitress when she tips a plate of noodles onto the suit of an unpleasant guest. Due to a job advertisement, she calls in at the design furniture company Lehmann und Lehmann. Their boss Max Lehmann is precisely this guest. But since he can no longer remember her and Anna convinces him, he hires her as a personal assistant. In order to keep the job, Anna has assured Max that she has no children and that she is fully available. That goes well for a while, but when Anna has to take Max to the airport by car, there is a risk that the lie would be exposed and Max quits Anna after she has confessed everything to him. Anna is distracted because of this and does not see the closed barrier. She therefore has to brake hard and Max suffers memory loss from the impact. Out of desperation, Anna takes her boss into her apartment, where he slowly comes to. Max hears the twins screaming and Anna tells him that these are his children. He believes the story and settles into the new role as a family man.

While Max tries to be a househusband and babysitter, Anna continues to go about her work, as the company assumes that the boss is visiting a trade fair in Japan and nobody knows that he has given her notice. Anna establishes contact with a major customer that Max has long wanted to supply and that they absolutely need to save the company. But she promises him a sofa that doesn't even exist yet. That's why she needs Max's help to design a new sofa. He doesn't even notice that he's just about to save his company himself. The next morning they wake up in bed together.

At the company, Anna meets the woman who was in the restaurant with Max at the time. She introduces herself as Stephanie Lehmann and during the conversation Anna learns that she is pregnant. Anna thinks she is Max's wife.

When Max is at home alone, Anna's ex-husband comes by. After a violent exchange of words, he hits him on the head with a fist. Max falls and hits his head hard on the floor. As a result, he regains his memory and leaves the apartment. When he goes to an appointment with the major customer, he meets Anna there and they talk. Max explains to Anna that Stephanie is his sister, so nothing stands in the way of their love.

criticism

“The pattern is well known: a snob gets a hit on the head, loses his memory and, with the help of a chaotic but lovable woman, transforms into a better person. Thanks to the main actors Julia Hartmann and Stephan Luca and the direction of the comedy-savvy Peter Gersina, 'Why I kidnapped my boss' is a wonderful new film despite the old story, which comes up with cheerful details, which plays comedically with role models, to the great portrayed secondary characters has to offer and which should cause laughter in both sexes. Good mood guaranteed! "
