The Washington State University is a comprehensive university based in Pullman in the State of Washington . The university has 24,396 students in three campuses: Pullman , Vancouver and Richland . The majority of students study on the Pullman campus . The university has a particularly strong reputation in the fields of pharmacy, veterinary science, engineering and communication studies.

history

The university was founded in 1890 and first opened in 1892 under the name Washington Agricultural College and School of Science , usually Washington State College for short . It was given its current name in 1959. The university was given 769 km² for research, particularly in agriculture.
