Taylor Campbell Rochestie (born July 1, 1985 in Houston , Texas ) is an American - Montenegrin basketball player . In 2010, Rochestie was Newcomer of the Year in the German basketball league and MVP of the final tournament of the EuroChallenge 2009/10 in the jersey of the BG 74 Göttingen . Since the beginning of 2014 he has been playing for the Russian BK Nizhny Novgorod.

college

After graduating from high school in Santa Barbara , California , Rochestie began studying at Tulane University , Louisiana . There he was in the squad of Green Wave , the college team at Tulane University, which plays in NCAA Division I. After a year, he returned to a west coast state and continued his studies at Washington State University. According to the regulations of the NCAA he was not eligible to play for the Cougars until the start of the 2006/07 season or the 2006 fall semester . In the following three years, the Cougars' greatest success was their entry into the 3rd round (also known as Sweet Sixteen ) in 2008, where they lost to the regional winner and Final Four participant UNC Tar Heels . This was the Cougars' furthest advance in an NCAA basketball tournament since losing the championship final in 1941.

Europe

For the 2009/10 season Rochestie moved to the basketball league for BG Göttingen. At the end of the main round, he was voted “Newcomer of the Year” by the 18 Beko BBL coaches and selected media representatives in a voting process with 75 points. With the BG 74 he then won the Final Four tournament of the EuroChallenge held in Göttingen and was named Most Valuable Player of this tournament. The first title success of the BG 74 on a supraregional level was only the third title win by a German club team in a European competition. For the 2010/11 season he was initially committed to the Turkish club Galatasaray Café Crown from Istanbul , which released him from his contract in early February 2011. He was then signed by Alba Berlin for the rest of the season, analogous to the previous return of Heiko Schaffartzik from the Turkish basketball league a few days later. With Alba, Rochestie was able to reach the play-off final series of the German championship , which was lost to the double winner and defending champion Brose Baskets from Bamberg . For the 2011/12 season Rochestie signed a contract with MSB from Le Mans . After a year in France, Rochestie moved to Spain for the 2012/2013 season to Caja Laboral from Vitoria-Gasteiz . In January 2013 he left the club again and moved to Italy to Angelico Biella. There he could not prevent Biella from being relegated to the bottom of the table after twelve seasons in the first division. For the following season Rochestie got a contract with the Italian series champion Montepaschi from Siena , who had to accept a personal bloodletting after financial problems. After the personnel change, Siena was also eliminated in the preliminary round of the ULEB Euroleague 2013/14 , whereupon Daniel Hackett and finally Rochestie left the club. Rochestie got a new contract in the VTB United League at the beginning of 2014 with the club from Nizhny Novgorod , where his compatriot Dijon Thompson is another former ALBA Berlin player. Since August 2017 he has been playing for the current ABA League champion KK Crvena Zvezda .
