Roderick Trice (born June 14, 1984 in Swainsboro , Georgia ), called " Rocky ", is an American basketball player who played in Germany from 2007 to 2012 , including four seasons in the basketball league for the BG Göttingen and ratiopharm Ulm . From 2013 to summer 2015 Trice played in the first Polish Tauron Basket League before moving back to Germany to the MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg .

Life

Trice moved from his hometown of Swainsboro to the "Junior College" Georgia Perimeter on the "South Campus" in Decatur . For his basketball team Jaguars he scored 21.0 points , 9.0 rebounds and 4.5 steals on average, he was named "Junior College" player of the year in the state of Georgia. In addition, he was appointed to the "2002/2003 National Tournament All Tournament Team". In 2004 Trice moved to graduate school at the University of South Carolina , where he played the remaining two years of his college career in the SEC of the NCAA Division I for the college team. In his final 2005/06 season he had rather average personal statistics with just under 7 points, a good 3 rebounds and a little more than one ball win on average. Then Trice began a career as a professional basketball player.

First Trice got in the season 2006/07 only one engagement in the rather insignificant World Basketball Association with the two-time Master Gladiators from Rome (Georgia) . For the following season 2007/08 he got a contract in Europe with the BasCats from Cuxhaven in the second German division ProA . With 14.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.9 steals, he led the BasCats to the runner-up. Trice was voted Player of the Year and signed a contract with the first division club BG 74 from Göttingen during the summer break of 2008 in early June . Under coach John Patrick he scored 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 ball wins per use. After the team had finished second in the Bundesliga main round and qualified for the play-offs for the championship for the first time in their second Bundesliga season , Trice was voted "League Newcomer of the Year" in the Bundesliga.

For the 2009/10 BBL season , Roderick Trice moved to league competitor Ratiopharm Ulm . His contract was successively extended after each season. In the 2011/12 BBL season , Ulm achieved a second place after the main round after two midfield placements under the new coach Thorsten Leibenath and moved into the play-offs up to the final series, in which they came in three against defending champion Brose Baskets from Bamberg Lost playing. However, Trice got fewer game shares in the changed team of the new coach and so it was announced in August 2012 that Trice's contract will no longer be extended.

Trice only signed a new contract at the end of 2012 and played for Energa Czarni from Słupsk in the Polish basketball league until 2014 .

After another year in Poland (near Śląsk Wrocław), Trice returned to Germany in the summer of 2015 and signed with MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg . After switching to the Polish first division club MKS Dabrowa Gornicza , Trice returned to Ludwigsburg in January 2017. He was out for a long time with knee problems, he played again in spring 2018 and stayed with the Bundesliga club until the end of the 2017/18 season.
