The Brügg hydropower plant is a run-of-river power plant on the Nidau-Büren Canal in the municipality of Brügg in the canton of Bern , which processes water from the Aare .
The project for a power plant to utilize the gradient at the Port Regulier weir was first suggested in 1983, but could only be carried out after the weir had been rehabilitated, which was completed in 1992. The construction of the power plant lasted from spring 1992 to spring 1996. The plant was commissioned in 1995.
The mean annual production of the plant operated by Bielersee Kraftwerk AG is 21 million kWh , which is generated with two bulb turbines . The two generators of the power plant can together deliver a maximum of 3.6 MW.
Together with the power plant, a fish ladder was built with a device for video observation of the fish.
