Military District VIII (Breslau)
The Military District VIII (Breslau) was a territorial administrative unit of the Wehrmacht during the time of the Nazi Reich . It existed from 1935, when it was separated from military district III , until 1945. The military district was responsible for the military security of the area of the province of Silesia and, from 1938, of the administrative district of Aussig ( Sudetenland ) as well as the provision and training of parts of the army in this area. The headquarters were in Breslau . The military district included the replacement districts of Breslau, Liegnitz and Katowice .
