The Wehrkreis V (Stuttgart) was a military administrative unit during the time of the Weimar Republic and the National Socialist German Reich and existed until 1945. It was responsible for the military security of the area of ​​the provinces of Baden and Württemberg and the recruitment and training of parts of the army of the Reichswehr or . of the Wehrmacht in this area. After 1940, Alsace was also incorporated into the military district. The military district comprised three military substitute districts ( Stuttgart , Ulm and, from 1940, Strasbourg ).
