Military District XI (Hanover)
The Wehrkreis XI (Hanover) was a military administrative unit of the Wehrmacht during the time of the National Socialist German Reich and existed until 1945. It was responsible for the military security of the areas of the state of Braunschweig , the state of Anhalt and the southern part of the province of Hanover as well as the provision and training of soldiers of the army in this area. The military district comprised two replacement districts (Hanover and Magdeburg ). The headquarters were in Hanover .
