Yann Wehrling (born July 3, 1971 in Strasbourg ) is a French illustrator and politician for Les Verts and, since the end of 2007, MoDem .

Life

Yann Wehrling studied fine arts at the Université Marc Bloch in Strasbourg and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts . He works as a freelance illustrator for several television companies , such as the Franco-German joint broadcaster ARTE and the Irish television broadcaster TnaG (now TG4 ), and illustrated numerous books for various book publishers , including the German Elatus Verlag .

politics

In 1988 Wehrling joined the French nature conservation movement France nature environnement (FNE) and also became a member of the then ecological French party Les Verts (The Greens) . From then on he was involved in various FNE committees and other environmental protection organizations as well as in various party offices, commissions and bodies at Les Verts. Among other things, he was press spokesman and from 2005 to November 2006 party chairman (French Secrétaire national ) of Les Verts. In 2005 a prohibited swimming action in the Seine near the Louvre in Paris attracted public attention ; Through the action, Wehrling and three other party members wanted to “criticize the river's persistently poor water quality” and at the same time “remind” President Jacques Chirac of an unfulfilled promise made in 1988 to improve the water quality of the Seine.

At the end of 2007 he joined the centrist French party Mouvement démocrate (MoDem; German Democratic Movement ), which resulted in his expulsion from Les Verts. Since September 2010 Wehrling has been the national party spokesman for MoDem.
