In 1280, Weichs became the property of the Niedermünster Imperial Monastery . The spelling changed over the centuries. In 1788 it was called Weix. The town of Weichs was an independent municipality of the Mallersdorf district, which was dissolved in 1972 , until the regional reform . On May 1, 1978, Weichs was incorporated into Laberweinting in the Straubing-Bogen district. The last mayor of the municipality of Weichs was Ludwig Peintner († September 16, 2014).
