history

In 1616, the winegrowing families Baumüller and Brodbeck, who came from Franconia, settled in Walsheim and founded the estate. Due to the good location, the safe construction as a Franconian homestead with only one archway and an 18 meter deep well located on the site, the estate was largely able to survive the Thirty Years' War without damage. The Renaissance archway, numbered to the year 1616, is listed and listed in the register of cultural monuments of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In the 18th and 19th centuries the border region Palatinate was marked by wars and the estate became self-sufficient in terms of wine, fruit, vegetable and arable farming as well as cattle breeding. This orientation as a classic mixed operation existed until 1965. From 1965 the company specialized in viticulture and pressing . Today the family winery, which has been in the family for 17 generations, is one of the largest private wine-growing companies in Germany.
